Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced live-in Superintendent to oversee a high-rise Condominium in Whitby, Ontario. The Superintendent is responsible for housekeeping of common areas, general maintenance within the building, and understanding and enforcing the condominium rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment.

Compensation

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily cleaning of common areas and maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment
  • Report deficiencies, maintenance issues, vandalism, and other concerns to the Property Manager as required
  • Respond to emergencies and interact with contractors and building residents
  • Perform daily checks of mechanical room equipment and systems
  • Handle and maintain garbage and recycling bins; operation of a bin tug required
  • Responsible for snow removal of walkways
  • Perform paint touch-ups as needed
  • Perform preventative maintenance in common areas
  • Follow and improve existing procedures; follow up on resident and management request
  • Provide recommendations to resolve issues and improve building operations
  • Meet and interact daily with the Property Manager
  • Record-keeping; create and maintain maintenance logs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be seeking a long-term superintendent role with a desire to grow and be part of the community
  • 5-10 years of similar experience in a high-rise condominium setting
  • Knowledge of general maintenance, repairs, and cleaning
  • Organized and a self-starter
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the Superintendent role
  • Must speak and read English fluently with strong communication skills
  • Police clearance check and three references from previous employment required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
