  • Lead contract negotiations, fee structures, and volume-based pricing discussions.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure all offerings meet regulatory and bank partner requirements.
  • Help shape product go-to-market strategies by balancing innovation with partner constraints.

3. Cross-functional Execution

  • Work with Product, Engineering, Risk, and Compliance to ensure technical integration and business logic aligns with partner policies.
  • Monitor and analyze payment data and success rates to drive improvements.
  • Stay informed on regional payment trends, scheme mandates, and emerging threats (e.g. chargeback rules, network changes).

4. Strategic Expansion

  • Identify and evaluate new partnership opportunities, including regional PSPs, local acquirers, or alternative payment methods.
  • Support market expansion by navigating regulatory/partner entry requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in payments, fintech, or banking, with a focus on partner-facing roles.
  • Strong understanding of Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover network rules, interchange, chargebacks, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proven track record of working with payment processors, acquirers, gateways, and card schemes in North America.
  • Direct experience optimizing payment success rates / authorization performance with measurable business impact.
  • Strong network of industry contacts (banks, processors, card networks, fintechs).
  • Familiarity with fraud prevention, tokenization, 3DS, network tokenization, and PCI compliance.
  • Proven ability to negotiate commercial agreements, ideally with PSPs or acquiring banks.

Preferred Background

  • Experience at a PSP, payment processor, acquiring bank, or card scheme.

  • Experience launching cross-border payment solutions or optimizing authorization/settlement performance.
  • Exposure to crypto, digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay), or alternative payment methods is a plus.
