Position SummaryThe Job Developer/ Employment Liaison is responsible for developing, building, and maintaining a wide network of employers to secure job shadowing and experiential learning opportunities (ELOs) for program participants. This role involves advocating for participants by showcasing their skills, prior professional experience, and educational background to employers, ultimately creating opportunities for participants to gain hands-on experience within their field in the Canadian labor market.
During the job shadowing and ELOs phase, the Job Developer/Employer Liaison supports employers by facilitating communication with participants and addressing any issues that may arise to ensure these opportunities are sustainable.
They actively build strong relationships with Regina employers to encourage hiring newcomers, evaluate employer needs, and provide customized solutions through effective job matching.
This position collaborates with other Job Developers and the Employment Services team to assist immigrant clients in achieving their employment goals. This includes connecting clients to job opportunities that match their skills and experience, organizing and taking part in various networking events, and engaging in business community events to increase the visibility of RODS Employment Services and its newcomer clients.
Requirements- Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field, such as Social Services, Communications, Public Relations, Human Resources, or a related area
- Experience in recruiting, job coaching, and employment counseling
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with staff, clients, employers, and various stakeholders.
- Solid working knowledge of labor market trends, available training, educational and employment opportunities, job competencies, employer requirements, and community resources
- Experience and sensitivity when working with newcomers to Canada, including those with limited English proficiency
- Strong technological skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Google Classroom, SMART Boards, Databases)
- Strong skills in marketing, communication, interpersonal relations, and organization
- Proven accountability, resourcefulness, initiative, and professionalism
- Must be results-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's license.

- Maintains positive employer relationships through regular follow-ups and collects feedback via employer satisfaction surveys to support program evaluation and improvements.
- Works collaboratively and builds trust with a diverse range of stakeholders, including employers, clients, and team members, to ensure program success.
- Promote the Career Bridging program to potential employers, identifying partners willing to offer career exploration opportunities and industry insights to program participants
- Build a network of local employers across various industries to provide job shadowing, ELOs, and access to hidden job opportunities for clients, and tap into the hidden job market to secure work placements for newcomer clients.
- Act as the primary contact for employers, ensuring clear communication, resolving issues, and cultivating long-term partnerships.
- Advocate for clients by showcasing their skills, experience, and education to employers, customizing profiles to match industry standards and employer needs for seamless entry into the Canadian workforce.
- Collaborate with other program team members to ensure participants are ready for ELOs through coaching and pre-placement orientation.
- Conduct and organize mock interviews to help clients prepare for real interviews.
- Coordinate the placement process for job shadowing and experiential learning, ensuring alignment with both client goals and employer expectations
- Develop and update a database of employer contacts, placement details, and feedback to ensure program efficiency and continuous improvement
- Identify current employer needs and issues, and offer suggestions in collaboration with the Employment Services team.
- Serve as a job coach by supporting and monitoring clients' employment status, evaluating their progress, and providing feedback.
- Match clients with mentors by reaching out to professionals across different industries. Track and assess the process
- Engage industry representatives in different settings, such as job fairs, information sessions, internal hiring events, worksite tours, and others
- Attend trade shows, career fairs, community events, and similar gatherings in the city to network with employers and other service providers
- Stay updated on labor market trends, effective job search techniques, skill requirements, and industry developments to ensure the program aligns with changing employer expectations.
- Design and develop promotional materials for the program advertisement as needed
- Track participants' placements and outcomes, document successes, challenges, and areas for improvement, and submit regular reports
- Maintain and update employer and client databases for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Perform additional duties related to the position as needed.
Salary Level/Classification
The classification for this position starts at $54, $31.02 per hour) at Step 1 of RODS' Professional Category. Pay periods are the end of the day on the 15th of the month and the end of each month.
Working Conditions and Application InstructionsThe standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a one-hour unpaid lunch break and an EDO every second week.
All RODS positions require a clean criminal record check. Upon successfully completing a six-month probationary period, employees receive a cost-shared benefits package and a 3% pension contribution.
