Steps away from the iconic market and the vibrant energy of Front Street, Pasta Privato offers an escape into a refined, intimate setting within one of Toronto's most storied culinary districts. We are seeking professional Servers to join the founding team of this sophisticated, small-scale concept.

The Standard: Proactive Service

Our team operates with a proactive, never reactive, mindset. We are looking for "experience makers" rather than order takers—individuals who stay ahead of guest needs and anticipate the flow of a tasting menu service. You are expected to lead by example, maintaining a high-energy, hands-on presence on the floor. Passive service is not part of our culture; we stay ahead of the guest journey at every turn.

Role Overview

  • Location: 9 Church Street, Toronto, ON.
  • Reporting: Reports directly to the Restaurant Manager and General Manager.
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly + gratuities.
  • Schedule: Primarily evening service shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Service Excellence

  • Execute a seamless, high-detail tasting menu service for an intimate 30-seat dining room.
  • Act as a storyteller, providing detailed information on our pasta-focused menu, ingredients, and Italian culinary traditions.
  • Maintain a constant, proactive presence on the floor, identifying guest needs before they are voiced.

Beverage Support

  • Work in lockstep with the Sommelier Manager to deliver precision wine and spirit pairings.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Italian-focused beverage program.

Operations

  • Handle all aspects of service setup and teardown with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Collaborate closely with a small, high-performance front-of-house team to ensure a fluid guest journey.
  • Assist in maintaining the aesthetic and cleanliness standards of the intimate Pasta Privato space.

Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements

This is a role for hospitality professionals who thrive in intimate, high-stakes environments.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in high-end dining, fine dining, or tasting menu environments.
  • Knowledge: A strong foundation in Italian cuisine and wine. You must be able to speak confidently about regional products.
  • Philosophy: A proactive, guest-centric mindset. We value "experience makers" who are detail-oriented and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Work Ethic: A "lead from the front" mentality; proactive in all tasks from service to side-work.

Pasta Privato is the latest evolution from our hospitality group, which owns and operates two of Toronto's most distinct culinary destinations: The Berczy Tavern and Notte Ristorante.

The Berczy Tavern serves as a cornerstone of refined, classic tavern dining, while Notte Ristorante offers a sophisticated, modern Italian experience at 9 Church Street.
