Whitemud Ironworks Limited is the largest open-shop commercial fabricator/erector in Western Canada. We are a fully integrated steel fabricator and erector that specializes in structural and miscellaneous steel projects in the commercial sector.

Currently, Whitemud Ironworks has a dedicated team of 250+ employees. As we continue to expand in the industry and prepare for another busy year, we are looking for experienced and dedicated individuals to join our team

Whitemud Ironworks Limited is seeking highly skilled Journeymen Structural Steel Fitters to join our fabrication teams in our Nisku location on the day shift & night shift. The hours of work are from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday for day shift and 4:00 PM to 3:30 AM, Monday to Thursday on the night shift.

What you will do…

• Read and interpret blueprints
• Lay out, prepare and assemble structural steel components for commercial, institutional and industrial steel erection projects
• Operate metalworking machines and use cutting torches to cut steel, drill or punch holes, roll, bend or press steel into a desired shape
• Assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units and sub-units
• Fasten components together by mechanical means or tack weld in preparation for a welder to complete the process
• Select and transport material to work area manually or using overhead crane
• You thrive in a fast paced environment and provide execution excellence in everything that you do.

Who we're looking for…

• A journeyman structural steel fitter/metal fabricator, or equivalent level of experience
• A reliable individual with great work ethics
• A team player with high commitment to safety, quality and productivity
