The Sr. Director Franchise Strategy & Management role at Electronic Arts plays a key architect role across the FC business, partnering and aligning our product, experience and commercial teams around a shared franchise growth plan. Able to connect thinking across, platforms, products and experiences, and understand intersections of decision making, this role is a creative business thinker, able to reconcile broad inputs and translate them into a comprehensive franchise strategy that enables us to lead the future of interactive football entertainment, cultivate massive online ecosystems and win in a fragmented consumer landscape.

This individual will drive interconnected decision making, in deep collaboration with senior Studio, Commercial and Finance partners, in order to advance a unified FC franchise strategy.

OVERVIEW:

The Senior Director, Franchise Strategy & Management for FC at EA SPORTS will focus across a portfolio of FC experiences in, around and beyond games. Reporting to the VP of Franchise Strategy & Marketing for FC, the Sr. Director will also support the VP and Studios GGM in the construction and ongoing orientation to a total-FC strategy dedicated to category development that meets/exceeds player motivations and commercial targets while expanding FC's market share.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Within the Strategic Growth Planning process, set a multi-year strategic roadmap at a portfolio and product level. Guide the process that enables both short and long term glidepaths, outcome orientation, decision-making frameworks, and strategic investment requirements.
  • Advance internal/cross functional alignment on the roadmap with the EA SPORTS LT, FC Extended Leadership team and drive adoption across CFX teams including Business Development, Licensing, CXO, Legal and the extended Publishing Organization.
  • Mature our relationship with strategy as an operating system to drive end to end business decisions (not just features/products) - inclusive of Marketing, Commercialization, Business Development, Technology Enablement, Product Development and Talent Growth.
  • Partner with Studios (Premium, Mobile and FTP) and Publishing leadership on data informed business decisions that extend from the multi-year strategic plan including, annual content development, partner support plans, and business performance metrics.
  • Lead evaluation and business case development for portfolio/franchise expansion into new consumer and community first experiences, that unlock audience expansion streams and business growth, partnering closely with commercial, ventures, biz dev, technology and operations teams.
  • Establish data-informed goals that are used, in partnership with other teams (commercial, marketing, communications and analytics), to hit important fan growth, margin and performance targets.
  • Partner with intelligence teams across Corporate Strategy, Consumer Insights, Data & Analytics, and Commercial Intelligence to inform broad ranges of market data, including sales and in-game data and competitive analysis to inform opportunities and challenges, then create strategies and tactics to drive results to optimize our in and out of game experiences, our marketing funnel and our commercial health.
  • Lead cross functional teams (direct and indirect) to pull strategy through to business execution across channels and categories - including but not limited to growth opportunities including Asia, Business Model Shifts, New Product Development, Advertising, Platform Growth, M&A etc.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 12+ years in Strategy/Business Growth role. MBA a plus.
  • Experience building high-performance teams that achieve results
  • Experience creating strategic architecture for decision making
  • Experience partnering with intelligence teams to establish context on the market and competitive environment
  • Experience partnering with a product development team to make insight informed decisions that satisfy prioritized consumer motivations
  • Excel at working in a matrixed team environment characterized by collaboration
  • Galvanize and influence teams and partners across departments, at all levels
  • Stakeholder management experience and engagement with executive teams
  • Understanding of evolving consumer engagement and channel opportunities

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$187,000 - $259,400 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
