About the Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Specialist is accountable for providing planning, leadership, coordination, and management for the Graham Quality Management System (QMS) at a high level and across a portfolio of projects. The Quality Manager manages all aspects of the Quality process and its programs, while ensuring timely completion of all related elements. The Quality Manager will maintain long-term stakeholder relationships while mentoring the Quality team and supporting the project teams.

The Quality Specialist will be a professional who can maintain relentless focus on both quality and continuous improvement while meeting and exceeding expectations, they will have an entrepreneurial mindset and high proficiency with technical, leadership, and communication skills.

As a Quality Specialist at Graham you will:

  • Lead the implementation and adherence to the Graham Quality Management System policy and process, including effective training and delegation of responsibilities to the Quality team
  • Manager and mentor Quality Coordinators and Specialists with a focus on development
  • Be accountable for the successful implementation of the Quality program across a series of Civil Infrastructure projects in Ontario
  • Ensure that the Quality processes are in place and refined to provide final closeout of each project in the portfolio
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and other key project personnel to verify that the quality of the supplied materials and services meet the expectations of internal and external stakeholders
  • Review Quality Plan submissions from subcontractors when needed and maintain a firm understanding of the contractual requirements for the Quality plan on each project
  • Review contract documents for quality specific requirements and develop Project Specific Quality Plans for new projects, be involved in pre-construction planning where necessary and ensure compliance during execution
  • Lead quality audits, as required
  • Provide training to the field supervision team on Quality processes
  • Develop and communicate performance standards and metrics to all relevant parties while supporting field supervision with Quality inspections and reporting

  • Initiate and assist with the development of new Quality protocols and processes and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for the Quality system's effectiveness

  • Maintain accountability for communicating, leading, and lagging KPIs
  • Develop regular status reports for the client and the Quality Director, detailing the status of QMS and recommending actions to be taken for continued improvement across all regional Infrastructure projects

  • Establish and maintain relationships with the project consultants, client, vendors, and key specialist subcontractors, in addition to other involved stakeholders such as design teams, suppliers, etc.

  • Present information and reports to senior business unit leaders as well as written correspondence and/or presentations to external parties (i.e. clients, partners, government agencies, etc.) and participate in bid interviews as required
  • Lead the both the Quality team and process by demonstrating a compelling vision towards continuous improvement while creating a culture of accountability with clear expectations and responsibilities tied to Graham priorities
  • Take a forward-looking view of future team development and growth while recruiting and/or promote the best people available to meet current and future requirements
