Help Support Young Writers & Artists in Waterloo Region
Are you passionate about the arts, writing, or mentoring young creative voices?
We're looking for volunteer jurors to help evaluate submissions for the 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in North America.
This volunteer opportunity is fully virtual and runs December 2025–January 2026. Jurors will have a chance to express preferred categories (poetry, short fiction, personal essay, photography, etc.) and grade levels. Each piece is reviewed using a simple, clear rubric focused on originality, skill, and personal voice. No prior judging experience needed
This is a great opportunity for writers, educators, students, and artists who want to:
Support youth in creative development
Contribute to a meaningful community project
Add valuable volunteer experience to a resume or portfolio
If you'd like to volunteer or learn more, send us a message or email with "Juror Volunteer" in the subject line.
