The Vice President, National Accounts is a senior sales leader responsible for managing and growing strategic relationships with key retail distribution partners (e.g., banks, broker-dealers, financial advisory firms). This role drives sales of Mackenzie's investment products, enhances brand visibility, and ensures alignment with Mackenzie's strategic objectives in the retail channel. Responsibilities Strategic Relationship Management Leads our interface with head office contacts to implement dealer level initiatives. Work with respective business leaders at each firm to promote, defend and align MFC's positioning to their strategy. Leads our effort to source leader level insights related to business strategy, asset mix, sales trends and territory level analysis. Work closely with retail teams, help to set a strategy to maximize our sales, capture rate and optimize mix. A lead participant in the development of dealer level strategy and account plans. Coordinate Mackenzie resources to provide holistic coverage of the Canadian Financial Services channel. Sales Strategy & Execution Develop and execute national account strategies to drive sales growth, increase market share, and deepen product penetration across platforms. Manage the team that actively promotes Mackenzie's suite of Fund and ETFs to analysts and portfolio managers at the major Canadian banks, insurance companies, brokerage firms, and independent financial planning companies Leads the identification of opportunities to participate on fund recommended lists (ETFs Mutual Funds), working directly with Team Leads and other members of the investment team to prepare for investment due diligence. Creates custom technical content to support and influence the sales process and arrangements – strong partnership with Legal and Compliance Develop strategy to engage with new distribution models to enhance strategic partnerships. Currently this role supports 25 distinct products, with a total of over 80 recommendations on 13 dealer recommended lists. Platform management & recommendations Serve as a subject matter expert on the firm's investment solutions, collaborating with product, marketing, and portfolio management teams to align offerings with client needs. Identifies opportunities to participate in Dealer model portfolios. Works directly with Team Leads and other members of the investment teams to develop customized solutions that fit with individual dealers and prepare for investment due diligence. Negotiate the terms of the arrangements Leads sales support model with retail Responsible for the implementation of the arrangements Responsible for over $1B of AUM, generating over $6M a year in revenue and annual sales of $100M. Business Development: Identify and pursue sub-advisory opportunities with all Canadian financial services companies, working directly with investment teams to progress through due diligence and develop custom solutions Negotiate the terms of the arrangements Responsible for the implementation of and servicing of all arrangements Provides relationship management for a handful of high value legacy accounts Responsible for close to $4B in AUM, generating roughly $11 in annual revenue Internal Engagement & Partnership Partner with internal wholesalers, marketing, compliance, and operations to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and client servicing. Manage internal resources such as legal, compliance, fund administration, investment management and private client to assure ongoing requirements from strategic partners are met. Work closely with the leadership team of Retail Distribution to align MFC's firm level activities. Work closely with Marketing to develop and deliver suitable content for each partnership. Work closely with Dealer Relations, Compliance, Legal, Training & Development and other service providers to address range of opportunities and ad hoc dealer level issues. Qualification Bachelor's degree preferably in commerce, business or economics 10 years of experience in business relationship management Direct experience working for a mutual fund dealer or experience as a financial advisor preferred Dynamic and effective communicator (both written and verbal) with the ability to captivate small and large audiences Additional Requirements Travel required to all offices globally to ensure consistency and quality control of workflows. Given time zones, often requires communication with Hong Kong based team in the evenings.
