About the Role:

We're seeking an experienced AI Technical Lead to help shape and scale our enterprise AI strategy across a global utility organization. This role will be pivotal in establishing our Azure, GCP, OCI AI framework, assessing AI capabilities within SaaS platforms, and driving governance and cybersecurity alignment. You will drive the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions focused on operational efficiency and automation within ATCO's environment. As part of the AI and Automations team, you will apply best practices in AI, MLOps, and model lifecycle management and work closely with the Data Analytics team with AI integrations.

What You Get to Do:

Operational Support

•    Work with AI Director on evolving ATCO AI strategic roadmap

•    Architect, build, and maintain scalable AI systems using Microsoft and other technologies

•    Implement and optimize MLOps pipelines for model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management

•    Collaborate with stakeholders to identify AI opportunities and translate business needs into technical solutions

•    Ensure operational excellence, repeatable processes, and effective governance for AI workloads

•    Oversee troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading of existing AI systems

•    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AI trends, tools, and frameworks relevant to automation and operational efficiency

•    Ensure compliance with security and privacy standards as specified by ATCO Cybersecurity Team.

Documentation

•    Responsible for the continued documentation of the overall AI environment

Planning and Requirements

•    Support initiatives such as new or enhanced cybersecurity projects being considered that require Palo Alto services

•    Assist in the translation of security or network requirements into Palo Alto technical requirements and/or solutions

•    Contribute to the formulation and definition of system scope and objectives based on operational or project requirements as they relate to Palo Alto

•    Collaborate with the EA, Design Authority and Cloud Architects to ensure that the Palo Alto architecture fully supports ongoing operations and projects

•    Participate in cloud solution design to ensure completeness of technical scope and implementation

Research and Technical Evaluation

•    Keep abreast of new and emerging Palo Alto functionalities and/or service offerings

•    Maintain knowledge of cloud technologies, monitoring, and automation products in the ATCO environment

•    Work with the Design Authority to recommend new Palo Alto technology direction or options to maintain competitive advantages

Financial Operations

•    Recommend and action opportunities for cost and efficiency savings

•    Assist in reporting on Palo Alto usage, performance, and costs for the organization

What You Bring:


•    Post secondary education in information systems or related fields

•    3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or IT infrastructure

•    Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate

•    Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

•    TensorFlow or PyTorch Developer Certification

•    Relevant MLOps certifications

•    Security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, CISM) are a plus for compliance and governance

•    Proven experience leading AI/ML projects focused on automation and operational efficiency

•    Firsthand expertise with Azure ML, PyTorch, and MLOps practices

•    Strong programming skills in Python; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (Azure)

•    Experience designing and deploying machine learning models in enterprise environments

•    Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills

•    Ability to translate functional processes and technical system requirements to support the successful integration of cloud technology solutions to meet business needs

•    Strong analytical, technical, and critical thinking skills

•    Excellent communication skills and able to use non-technical language to explain technology to non-IT stakeholders

•    Ability to work in a team environment, build collaborative relationships, and negotiate with stakeholders

•    Have an innovative mindset, and a proven history in identifying, proposing, prototyping, documenting, and overseeing the execution of AI solutions
