General Labourer - Intern

Renewed Computer Technology (RCT) is a non-profit organization which manages a number of programs, the largest of which is the Computers for Schools (CFS) Program in Ontario.

RCT's mandate for the CFS program is to provide youth between the ages of 16-30 years with hands on work paid experience for approximately 8 months in order to pursue their careers in the IT or Operations field.

The General Labourer position involves the assisting the Sr. Technician - Detailing, with various warehouse and inventory tasks.

Main Responsibilities:

• Inventory counts and reconciliation
• Organizing, picking and transferring of material
• Continual warehouse and inventory maintenance
• Data entry, adjustments, and inquiries (Sage 300 ERP)
• Processing/screening incoming computer equipment and accessories (as required)
• Special projects (as required)

Qualification and Experience:

• Minimum qualifications: secondary high school diploma
• Enrolled or completed a Operations Management certificate or equivalent (an asset)
• ERP Experience, preferably Sage 300 (an asset)
• At least 1 year working in a warehouse environment (an asset)
• At least 1 year of inventory experience (an asset)
• Reach truck certification (an asset)
• Excellent attention to detail in a fast paced environment

Knowledge and skills:

• Able to work in a team environment
• Prompt and reliable
• Ability to focus on task at hand, with minimal supervision
• Excellent attention to detail in a fast paced environment
• Physically able to lift computers and monitors (up to 50 lbs)
• Please note that this is a warehouse environment

Program requirements:

This position is under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy ("YESS") program, funded by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and has strict qualifying criteria as follows:

• Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 30 years
• Applicants must be a high school graduate
• Only the following 3 statuses:* Applicants must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada*
• NOTE: WORK PERMITS DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THIS PROGRAM
• Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations
• Applicants must not be previous participants in a ESDC youth funded program (i.e. "YESS" program)
• Not in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits

Other Details:

• Pay: $18.13/hour
• Standard Hours of Work: Monday-Friday from 8:00AM-4:00PM (37.5 hrs/week)
• Job Type: In-person/On-site, Full-time, Internship, Fixed term Contract
• Location: 945 Meyerside Drive, Mississauga ON L5T 1P9
• Contract Length: Approximately 8 months
• No remote work options
