The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check and Driver's Abstract, in accordance with the duties of this position. The successful candidate must provide their own CSA approved safety boots.
This position is a summer contract (May – End of August), 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday. The hourly wage range for this position is $22.48 to $

Position SummaryReporting to the Manager, Engineering & Capital Projects, the Engineering Student will be responsible for providing support to the Engineering Department, including attending constructions sites for supervision, inspection, documentation, report and traffic study generation, and drawing reviews. This position will provide excellent customer service to members of the public and work closely with landowners and contractors in relation to development projects.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist the Engineering Department staff with day-to-day activities which may include, but not be limited to:
Construction site inspection
- Construction site supervision and documentation
- Technical Drawing reviews
- Traffic Studies and Report Generation
- File management
Data Input
Communicate with Public on engineering related customer service inquiries.
- Work closely with consultants, contractors, agencies, and committees on Capital Projects.
- Work closely with landowners and contractors on development projects.
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary Engineering program.
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently.
- Strong computer skills including good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Ontario G or G2 Class Driver's License is required, access to personal vehicle an asset.
- Holding a valid certificate for First Aid/CPR and WHMIS is an asset.
- Physical demand requires standing, sitting, lifting, crouching, and walking.
- Visual attention for health and safety compliance and personal safety while on the job.
- Standard office environment.
- Working on Construction sites and throughout Town to complete tasks. CSA approved safety boots must be purchased by students and worn at all times when on-site.
- May be required to work occasional evenings and weekends.
