Job Opportunity: Experienced Immigration and Refugee Paralegal

Are you a skilled paralegal with a passion for immigration and refugee law? Our busy and growing law office in the Greater Toronto Area is dedicated to providing exceptional immigration and refugee services. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Paralegal – Immigration and Refugee Specialist to join us as a contractor and make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and file immigration and refugee applications, including work permits, study permits, family sponsorships, and PR applications.
  • Assist clients with refugee claims, appeals, and judicial reviews.
  • Communicate with government agencies, tribunals, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date with changes in immigration laws and policies.
  • Draft and submit legal documents, affidavits, and other required materials.
  • Manage case files and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Provide excellent client service and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience
     as a paralegal in immigration and refugee law.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian immigration policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Strong understanding of IRCC, CBSA, and IRB processes.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic, etc.) is an asset.
  • Paralegal license in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
