COHO Management Services Society is a non-profit property management company dedicated to supporting housing co-operatives across British Columbia. Since its founding in 1984 by the Co-operative Housing Federation of BC (CHF BC), COHO has been committed to supporting housing co-operatives through tailored, community first management services.
Our services are tailored to support in administration, governance, financial services and property management and maintenance. About the role
The Accounting Coordinator plays a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial services to COHO and its clients. This position supports the accounting team by managing day-to-day accounting tasks, preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will also act as a liaison between COHO and its clients, helping them understand their financial performance and fostering strong relationships.

What you'll do
As an Accounting Coordinator, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the delivery of exceptional accounting services to COHO and its clients. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable and ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
- Compile, analyze and report financial data for monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Assist with budget forecasting and audit preparation
- Act as a liaison between the accounting department and external parties, including clients, suppliers and lenders
- Process invoices, manage payroll and reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy
- Verify invoices and other accounting documents for accuracy
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records
- Participate in audits and work closely with internal and external auditors
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Ensure compliance with company policies and all relevant legal and regulatory requirements
- Attending client meetings, including those outside of core working hours
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Director, Finance & Accounting or the Staff Supervisor
What you bring
- Post-secondary diploma in accounting or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, bookkeeping or budgeting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites; experience with Sage 300 or property management software is a strong asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze data, solve problems and manage multiple priorities
- Customer service orientation and ability to build positive relationships
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to attend evening meetings and occasional travel
