We're looking for a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator who is passionate, detail-oriented, and proactive to help ensure the well-being of our teams across job sites. Working closely with the HSE Supervisor, you'll play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture across our sites. You'll implement safety protocols, conduct training, and serve as the main point of contact for all health and safety matters.

Vacancy Status: Current Opportunity

What you will do as a Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator:

  • Joint Health & Safety Committee: Set up and lead meetings, coordinate inspections, investigate work refusals, and collaborate with the Ministry of Labour when needed.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular workplace inspections, ensure corrective actions are followed through, monitor air quality, and help secure the site daily.
  • Incident & Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency and evacuation plans, provide first aid, investigate incidents, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Training & Awareness: Deliver site-specific orientations, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to ensure all trades and workers understand safe work practices.
  • Administrative Support: Manage permits, inspection reports, qualification tracking, safety boards, and documentation related to compliance and enforcement.

What You Bring:

  • Must hold an NCSO designation or demonstrate equivalent safety certification and experience
  • Degree or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation and best practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Calm under pressure and capable of influencing safe behavior
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
