Role Overview
The Business Consultant - Intermediate will support a large-scale digital modernization initiative delivered using an
Agile / Hybrid approach
. The role focuses on
process analysis, requirements gathering, stakeholder facilitation, and change enablement
to help modernize legacy business services into
human-centric, sustainable digital solutions
.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and governance groups to ensure solutions meet business needs, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Business Analysis
- Facilitate requirements-gathering activities including interviews, workshops, document analysis, and process walkthroughs.
- Analyze
current-state and future-state business processes
, identifying goals, pain points, and gaps between legacy systems and modern solutions. - Document and validate
business and functional requirements
with subject matter experts. - Create and maintain:
- User stories and acceptance criteria
- System use cases and process flows
- Personas and journey maps
- Functional diagrams and interactive mock-ups (as required)
Agile Delivery Support
- Work within
Agile / Hybrid delivery frameworks
(e.g., Scrum). - Support backlog development, refinement, and prioritization.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Utilize Agile tools such as
JIRA
to manage requirements and traceability.
Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation
- Lead and facilitate workshops and working sessions with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Act as a liaison between business users and delivery teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements and outcomes.
- Support executive and operational stakeholders with clear, well-structured business documentation and reporting.
Change Management & Continuous Improvement
- Support change management activities to enable adoption of new or enhanced business processes and systems.
- Assist with the development of training materials, user documentation, and procedural manuals.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify improvement opportunities and support backlog refinement.
Governance, Privacy & Security Support
- Collaborate with privacy and security teams to support:
- Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA)
- Security Threat and Risk Assessments (STRA)
- Apply and interpret relevant legislation, policies, standards, and governance requirements as part of solution design and documentation.
Required Qualifications
Work Experience
- 5+ years
of experience documenting
user requirements, business processes, and workflows
. - 5+ years
of experience gathering requirements using techniques such as interviews, workshops, document analysis, use cases, and business process modeling. - 3+ years
of experience in a
leadership and/or facilitation role
. - 3+ years
of experience working within an
Agile development environment
.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of
Agile and Hybrid delivery approaches
. - Experience with
requirements management tools
(e.g., JIRA). - Excellent
analytical, problem-solving, and business writing skills
. - Ability to function independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply
complex legislation, policies, and standards
.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Professional certification or accreditation in a related discipline (e.g., CBAP, PMP, PMI-PBA, Agile certifications).
- Experience evaluating
policies, programs, or initiatives
using program development principles. - Experience gathering requirements across
multiple departments or organizational units
. - Experience supporting
organizational change management
initiatives.
