Our central role includes managing the provincial power grid in real-time, overseeing and evolving Ontario's electricity market, engaging with government, municipalities and Indigenous communities, and planning for Ontario's future electricity needs. This role is a unionized position within the Legal Resource and Corporate Governance business unit.

This role reports to the Supervisor, Contract Processes and Systems and is responsible for the administration of Contract Management's processes and systems activities that support the maintenance of records and information related to Contract Management's portfolio of contracted electricity generation facilities.  

Key responsibilities include ongoing maintenance of the systems and processes that are used to maintain the Contract Management portfolio, administration of all Contract Management records, both digital and physical, liaising with the Contract Management teams to illicit requirements for system and process improvements, maintenance of training and guidance documents and contributing to reporting efforts as needed. This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive business analysis, advanced problem solving and oversight of system change requests, (including the triage and response to any CM system issues), providing subject matter expertise, and supporting all areas of records management. The position collaborates on software development projects, trains staff and drives process improvements. The Specialist will interface with stakeholders and other IESO departments in order to perform the functions outlined above. 

What you'll do

In this role, you'll make a meaningful impact by contributing to the IESO team and supporting the electricity needs of the province through:

Act as Subject Matter Expert for contract management systems; manage change requests, defects, and liaise with IT for system enhancements. Gather and document detailed requirements, analyze workflows, and create process documentation to support data and reporting solutions. Identify gaps, implement process improvements, and develop KPI tracking to drive efficiency and standardization across teams. Contribute to the design and maintenance of advanced reports (Tableau, SQL), deliver timely insights, and train end-users for effective data utilization. Advise leadership on process and records strategies; translate business requirements into technical specifications for IT teams. Validate and cleanse data, integrate components into business processes, and apply statistical techniques to uncover actionable insights. Partner with cross-functional teams and IT, manage multiple priorities, mentor associates, and foster a data-driven culture.  

Role Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need: 

The education required to complete the responsibilities associated with the position is typically obtained through 4 years of university training. 

University degree in business, information technology, computer science or equivalent. Further education or specialization in business analysis would be considered an asset. 

The incumbent should have experience in acting in a Business-IT liaison role in software development, enterprise relational databases and data analysis.  

Hands-on analytic in entity relationship data modeling and significant exposure to the application of database systems. 

Proven experience in reporting for senior people leaders and executive level audiences. 

Experience with data issue identification, analysis, and remediation. 

Advanced skills with business analysis and requirement gathering 

The minimum level of experience for the role to perform at a satisfactory level of proficiency is 8-10 years including the period of adjustment on the job itself.
