Looking for a full time, long term, live-in our live-out nanny / house manager in Kamloops BC to take care of one child.
Wage: $20 to $26/hour
Job Overview
We are seeking a caring and responsible Babysitter/Nanny to provide attentive childcare for children of various ages. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment, supporting children's development and well-being. This role requires flexibility, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children. Prior experience in childcare, nannying, or daycare settings is highly valued. The position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives while developing your caregiving skills.
Duties
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks tailored to children's dietary needs
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Assist with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and nap times
- Perform light housekeeping tasks related to children's care, including cleaning toys and play areas
- Administer basic first aid if necessary and handle minor injuries promptly
- Support children with special needs or disabilities as required
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities and any concerns
- Foster a positive, nurturing environment that encourages social skills and independence
Experience
- Prior experience with children in roles such as babysitting, nannying, daycare work, or teaching is preferred
- Knowledge of toddler care, infant care, and preschool activities is highly desirable
- Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus but not mandatory; training can be provided if needed
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities with patience and professionalism
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with children and their families
