Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, monitor, and oversee the daily routing and scheduling of YRT transit operators to ensure efficient and timely service delivery across assigned routes.
  • Ensure full route coverage each day by making schedule adjustments and reassignments as required to maintain uninterrupted service.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for operators, providing front-line support for operational issues, detours, vehicle concerns, and customer service matters.
  • Communicate all relevant trip, route, and schedule details clearly and promptly to ensure accurate execution of service plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of operator assignments, attendance, hours worked, and related payroll documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Safety and Maintenance teams to coordinate vehicle inspections, servicing, and repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
  • Respond professionally and courteously to incoming calls, radio communications, and service-related inquiries.
  • Liaise directly with York Region Transit (YRT) representatives to provide operational updates, address route performance concerns, and resolve service-related issues.
  • Monitor and report on service performance, incidents, and delays, taking proactive steps to address and prevent recurrence.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing scheduling efficiency, operator communication, and overall service reliability.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture by supporting operators and fostering adherence to company and YRT service standards.

Job Type: Full-time
