We are looking for a Student, Fleet Performance and Operation to help support our marine shipping business and drive efficiency through data analysis. The Student, Fleet Performance and Operation will have great opportunities to learn about commercial operations, vessel efficiency and marine shipping.
Position: Summer Student – Fleet Performance and Operations
Location: Montreal, Quebec
Start/End Date: From May 2026 to August 2026
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with tracking and analytics of fleet performance data.
- Carry out analysis projects to identify trends in data that can support the company's push towards decarbonization or enhance intelligence around decision making.
- Overall support of and contribution to the company's decarbonization vision.
- Perform a deep dive into the statistics of our lakes trade to improve efficiency.
- Compile facts and data from incidents for voyages and share the learnings.
- Verification of data entry in key Operational projects
- Shadow the day-to-day activities of an operator to gain a perspective and understanding of what they do.
*Group Research project: Each summer, all recruited students take part in a collaborative project focused on a current maritime issue or a topic related to the company's operations. The theme is selected annually by the program mentors and approved by senior management. This initiative represents roughly 20% of the students' overall workload. Beyond fostering teamwork on a shared objective, it provides an opportunity to gain deeper insight into the dry bulk shipping industry.
WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON
The ideal candidate is:
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated from university.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytic skills.
- Motivated and autonomous.
