Who we are:
For over 20 years, Global Relay has set the standard in enterprise information archiving with industry-leading cloud archiving, surveillance, eDiscovery, and analytics solutions. We securely capture and preserve the communications data of the world's most highly regulated firms, giving them greater visibility and control over their information and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations.
Though we offer competitive compensation and benefits and all the other perks one would expect from an established company, we are not your typical technology company. Global Relay is a career-building company. A place for big ideas. New challenges. Groundbreaking innovation. It's a place where you can genuinely make an impact – and be recognized for it.
We believe great businesses thrive on diversity, inclusion, and the contributions of all employees. To that end, we recruit candidates from different backgrounds and foster a work environment that encourages employees to collaborate and learn from each other, completely free of barriers.
Your role:
We are looking for a Lead UX Designer to join our design team at Global Relay. You will be hands on, pragmatic, and confident leading complex design work. You will help shape new AI powered experiences across our Archiving platform and collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to ensure what we ship is thoughtful and useful for our clients.
The team
You'll be part of a growing design team spread across London, Vancouver, and New York. We work closely together but give people autonomy to own their work. The environment is friendly, fast-paced, and focused on doing great work.
Location
This role is based in Vancouver, hybrid (2 days in the office per week).
Your responsibilities:
Lead Design
You will take ownership of UX design across key parts of our AI project, from discovery all the way to exploration and delivery. You will define user journeys, create clear documentation and new patterns where needed, and work with our engineering team to bring it to life.
You will not manage people directly, but you will lead by example by supporting other designers through peer feedback, design reviews, and helping to keep the quality high across the board
You will coordinate closely with your UX manager and the cross functional teams to align design work with user requirements, business goals and timelines.
Apply design thinking to AI functionality
This is a critical role in shaping how we design for AI. You will need to understand how AI impacts usability, trust, transparency, and user control.
About You:
- Strong end-to-end UX design experience across research, interaction design, and usability testing
- Ability to lead cross functional projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Good understanding of how to design for and with AI technologies
- Clear, structured communication and documentation skills
- University degree in psychology, human-computer interaction, or other UX related field
Nice to have
- Experience in enterprise or compliance industries
- Experience in banking or finance
