The Opportunity: A Training Pathways Advisor supports Better Jobs Ontario applications connected to Sault College. This role is designed to make the Better Jobs Ontario application process smoother for potential students seeking training opportunities. Reporting to the Registrar's Office, the successful candidate will work closely with agencies that assist with Better Jobs Ontario applications, including our own Employment Services team.
This individual must be persistent in helping clients overcome barriers and delays, and ensure clients can obtain necessary documentation. They will collaborate with Employment Consultants to confirm that Sault College provides all required information promptly and accurately, ensuring a seamless experience for clients transitioning into training.
In addition to supporting applications, the role will include meeting performance targets, promoting Better Jobs Ontario across the region, and recruiting potential students during slower periods.
This new position reflects the College's ongoing commitment to supporting our community and helping individuals access the training they need for sustainable employment.
What you need to be successful:
- 3 year diploma/degree in business
- Minimum of 3 years in College sector, business/ sales or working within government
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to overcome uncertain situations
- Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects or files at the same time
- Well-developed customer service skills and a demonstrated commitment to serving vulnerable populations
- Experience in building relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Strong MS Office Suite proficiency
- Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills
- Bilingualism in French and English considered an asset
- Must have personal method of transportation (or equivalent)
This is an Initiatives/Opportunities support staff position, 35 hours/week, Payband H - $ $43.18/hour (starting rate $37.34/hour).
