Summary

'We are seeking a skilled Web 3D Product Visualization Artist to create high-quality interactive 3D spins and animations for websites using CAD data (SolidWorks). The ideal candidate can convert complex CAD models into optimized, real-time 3D assets and deliver smooth, performant WebGL-based experiences similar to premium e-commerce brands.

Key Responsibilities3D & CAD Processing

  • Import and convert SolidWorks CAD files (STEP, IGES, etc.) into DCC tools
  • Clean up geometry, remove internal parts, and optimize meshes for web use
  • Perform retopology, polygon reduction, and LOD creation
  • Ensure correct scale, units, and hierarchy

Texturing & Look Development

  • Create PBR materials suitable for real-time rendering
  • UV unwrap and bake textures (Normal, AO, Roughness, Metallic)
  • Optimize texture sizes for web performance

Animation

  • Create 360° product spins (turntables)
  • Produce simple product animations (exploded views, part highlights, assembly)
  • Animate cameras and lighting for smooth web interaction

Web 3D Delivery

  • Export assets to glTF / GLB format
  • Optimize files using compression (Draco / Meshopt)
  • Prepare models for real-time WebGL viewers
  • Collaborate with developers to integrate assets into websites

Quality & Performance

  • Ensure fast loading, smooth interaction, and cross-browser compatibility
  • Balance visual quality with performance constraints
  • Test and iterate based on feedback

Required Skills & QualificationsMust-Have

  • Strong experience with Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max
  • Experience converting CAD models (SolidWorks) to production-ready assets
  • Solid understanding of low-poly optimization for web
  • Proficiency in PBR texturing workflows
  • Experience exporting and working with glTF / GLB
  • Strong eye for product visualization and detail

Web 3D Knowledge

  • Familiarity with WebGL-based tools such as:
  • Verge3D
  • or similar frameworks
  • Understanding of real-time rendering constraints

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Substance Painter / Designer
  • Knowledge of JavaScript basics (for testing viewers)
  • Experience in e-commerce product visualization
  • Familiarity with Shopify or custom CMS integrations
  • Experience with real-time render engines (Eevee, Marmoset)
