Since 1998, Empire Communications has been a trusted local provider of Security and IT Business Solutions across Southwestern Ontario. We partner with both small and large organizations to design, install, and support advanced systems — including VoIP telephone systems, security, surveillance, and card access solutions.

We're currently seeking am experiencedand motivated Network Cabling Technician to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test CAT3, CAT5e, CAT6, coax, and other network cabling systems in new and existing buildings
  • Test and troubleshoot wiring issues to ensure system integrity
  • Identify, trace, and safely remove abandoned or obsolete cabling
  • Operate hand tools, ladders, and network testing equipment
  • Collaborate with Senior Technicians to complete service orders accurately, including time, materials, and detailed work descriptions
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with Senior Technicians and Project Managers
  • Interpret blueprints, maps, and layouts related to client installations
  • Adhere to Company Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Work on projects that may involve ladder climbing, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
  • Be available for occasional after-hours and weekend work as required

Please note: Duties may be revised as necessary to meet business needs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in network cabling or low-voltage installation required
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites within Southwestern Ontario

Compensation

  • Wage: Commensurate with experience
