Overview

Do you have Personal Tax Preparation Experience? We are looking for an experienced T1 Intermediate Tax Preparer to join our team for the upcoming tax season

This is a seasonal contract position running ideally from February to May, with a standard 40-hour work week and additional hours as needed during peak periods.

The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills and can communicate clearly and professionally with clients by phone, email, or in person. You are detail-oriented, a logical problem-solver, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Technologically proficient and passionate about helping clients navigate their taxes, you can work accurately under tight deadlines while maintaining a friendly and patient approach.

Major duties and responsibilities

  • Prepare and advise on Personal Tax returns and Adjustments, including Self-employment, GST returns, Rental Income, Capital Gains/Losses, Foreign Income, T1135, Employment expenses.
  • Interpret and apply relevant CRA requirements, deductions, credits, and reporting standards.
  • Maintain organized records of all tax-related documentation.
  • Thoroughly and accurately analyze information.
  • Work within firm procedures to maintain compliance, confidentiality, and timely filing.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience preparing Canadian T1 Tax Returns.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client files efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, expected to read, write, speak and understand English fluently is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience from H&R Block or experience using TaxCycle, and iFirm.
  • This is an in-office position.
