Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones, and promoting a love of learning. This role requires excellent communication skills, classroom management abilities, and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. Bilingual skills in English and French are highly desirable to effectively engage with diverse student populations. The Early Childhood Teacher will collaborate with colleagues, families, and specialists to ensure each child's individual needs are met, including those with disabilities or special needs.

Duties

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and individual student needs
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
  • Monitor and assess children's progress, documenting developmental milestones and behavioral observations
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements
  • Collaborate with special education professionals to support children with disabilities or special needs
  • Incorporate technology and computer tools to enhance instructional delivery when appropriate
  • Manage classroom routines efficiently, including scheduling activities, transitions, and behavioral expectations
  • Lead activities that promote social-emotional development, creativity, and critical thinking skills
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and other required documentation
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities and documentation efficiently
  • Ability to utilize computer skills for lesson planning, record keeping, and communication purposes
  • Classroom experience demonstrating leadership qualities and classroom management capabilities
  • Strong time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities effectively
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine passion for fostering young children's growth and learning

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 8 per week
