Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting various warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and heavy equipment operation. The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience and familiarity with warehouse management systems, along with the ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in logistics, manufacturing, and warehouse management within a fast-paced environment.
Compensation is determined on experience & qualifications.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts to load and unload materials
- Assist with order picking, packing, and packaging to ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, including verifying shipments and preparing items for dispatch, and completion of required paperwork
- Conduct inventory counts and maintain organized storage areas
- Support manufacturing processes by handling raw materials and finished goods
- Perform heavy lifting as required to move products safely within the warehouse
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols when operating machinery and handling materials
- Assist in construction or maintenance tasks related to warehouse facilities as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or related fields such as manufacturing or construction
- Ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with heavy equipment operation is desirable
- Ability to read and write in English, other languages are an asset
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures and order fulfillment processes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
- Previous experience with order picking, packaging, load & unload activities preferred
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures
- Warehouse experience involving the use of warehouse management systems is a plus
