Position Summary:
The Quality Manager is responsible for all quality control activities relating to process and product. This role will focus on serving the customer effectively through process improvement, quick resolution to issues, and the development of robust processes that ensure quality is produced every time. This role ensures that quality standards from both customer and regulatory bodies are met/exceeded. This role oversees the analytical and NCR/process improvement groups. This role is responsible for the bulk of the documentation and implementation and upkeep of an appropriate documentation system/QMS system which can manage these areas of the business. This position is also a key support in regulatory and certification audits.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
- Develop and manage a team of quality control individuals to ensure proper training, compliance and performance.
- Support in the development of internal processes for vetting suppliers and qualifying inputs and components.
- Oversee and coordinate the NCR process, including the identification, documentation, tracking, and resolution of non-conformance issues.
- Implement improvements and updates to quality management system and maintain documentation surrounding the software.
- Analyze NCR data to identify trends and areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines related to quality control.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality system.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis, process improvement, and continuous improvement projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address quality issues, including product quality, process quality, and documentation quality.
- Monitor accuracy, efficiency, cost, and customer service of third-party labs to determine continued partnerships with these labs.
- Communicate quality issues and concerns with other departments and management as required.
- Manage onsite quality assurance activities.
- Provide support on audits to ensure documentation is prepared and presented for auditors.
- Participate in the development and improvement of new products or processes, to ensure that quality control processes are integrated.
- Track and report on KPIs related to the performance of the quality control and quality management system to measure effectiveness and areas for improvement.
- Support integration of systems between the main site and other sites within the Bioriginal group.
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and protocols.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Strong customer focus.
- Knowledge of analytical standards and methods. Knowledge of regulations relating to food and supplements are an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient with the Microsoft suite of programs.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a quality control/quality assurance related role.
