This rural generalist Respiratory Therapist II position provides ambulatory outpatient/community, acute care, emergency department and continuing care services in the communities of St. Paul and Bonnyville. This role is an integral member of our very supportive interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be required in building and maintaining relationships. St. Paul is A people kind of place. Description:

As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will coordinate, monitor and assess clinical services in your assigned area. You will act as a clinical resource for daily operations, coordinating the work of therapy assessment and treatment in your service area, and assist in the development of clinical protocols. You will develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor the progress of patients (clients, residents) receiving advanced respiratory treatment. You will identify new equipment requirements, and establish and maintain adequate levels of supplies and materials for your area. You will be responsible for respiratory equipment, including but not limited to operation, procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance. You will participate in interprofessional patient, client or resident rounds, conferences and meetings where applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Certification in Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider from the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Preferred Qualifications:

New grads are welcome to apply. One year experience with rural generalist practice is an asset. One year of recent experience (within the last 5 years) with respiratory therapy services in an acute care, emergency department or hospital based ambulatory outpatient setting is also preferred.
