Position Summary

The Warehouse Lead Hand supports the Warehouse Manager in coordinating day-to-day activities on the floor. This role ensures that workflows are efficient, safety standards are met, and team members are productive and motivated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist warehouse team members in daily operations, including shipping, receiving, order picking, packing, and inventory management.
  • Assign and monitor tasks to ensure operational goals and deadlines are met.
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing guidance and performance feedback.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety within the warehouse.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and inventory records in warehouse management systems.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers, and other departments to resolve issues promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a positive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of warehouse experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or lead hand role.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety procedures, and inventory control.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer knowledge and aptitude, with the ability to learn new software.
