JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Network Surveyor provides technical leadership for the establishment, maintenance, and verification of high-precision survey control networks in support of large-scale civil infrastructure works across the PACT program. This role is accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of geodetic and construction control networks that underpin all survey and construction activities within a live airport environment. The position requires advanced expertise in GNSS and network adjustment, strong leadership capability, and close coordination with construction, engineering, and survey teams, while ensuring compliance with PACT governance, safety, and quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, sequencing, and processes on major infrastructure projects
Expertise in least squares adjustment using survey software such as Microsurvey StarNET
Proven ability to calculate and analyze GNSS measurements and baselines
Proficiency with Leica and Trimble office software for network adjustment and calculations
Advanced working knowledge of Leica and Trimble survey systems
Experience using advanced survey equipment, including laser scanners, total stations, GNSS receivers, and digital levels
Familiarity with design and data-processing tools such as Civil 3D and point cloud software
Strong leadership capability with experience managing and directing survey teams
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across construction, engineering, and site management teams
Strong organizational skills and adaptability in fast-paced, complex project environments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
WORK CONDITIONS
The position will be based at our offices in Mississauga, Ontario, with regular visits to the site offices as required. This position is 5 days per week with core hours of work between approximately 8:00am-5:00pm with 1 hour Lunch or as agreed upon with your manager.
All employees must complete a RAIC and Criminal background check.
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES
5 to 10 years of progressive experience in civil surveying on major infrastructure or heavy civil construction projects
Bachelor's degree in Geodetic Engineering, Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline is required
Postgraduate degree in a related field is considered an asset
Demonstrated experience delivering survey works on large, complex, multi-disciplinary civil projects
Proven experience performing GNSS network design, adjustment, and baseline calculations
Advanced experience with least squares adjustment software, including Microsurvey StarNET
Strong working knowledge of Leica and Trimble survey systems, hardware, and office software
Experience utilizing laser scanning and point cloud technologies for construction verification and as-built documentation
Familiarity with Civil 3D for surface modeling, alignments, and survey data integration
Experience supervising, mentoring, and coordinating survey crews and technical staff
Strong understanding of construction tolerances, quality requirements, and verification processes
Experience working within live, highly regulated construction environments is considered an asset
Knowledge of applicable Canadian surveying standards, codes, and construction specifications
Valid driver's license and ability to work extended or flexible hours as required by project needs
