Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Perform account reconciliations for bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial data.
  • Utilize accounting and tax software such as Caseware, QuickBooks, Sage, TaxCycle, and other platforms to record and maintain accurate financial data.
  • Conduct audits and assist with external audit preparations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with financial services activities including tax filings, compliance reporting, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline bookkeeping procedures and improve overall financial operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Accounting
  • Two plus years of public accounting experience
  • Proven experience with accounting software such as Caseware, QuickBooks, Sage, Taxcycle and other relevant platforms.
  • Good understanding of accounting standards, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis.
  • Experience in corporate finance functions including auditing, taxes, payroll, and financial reporting is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial data management.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate findings effectively.
  • Familiarity with financial services regulations and compliance standards is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
