Evolving Youth Care Inc. has been providing a full spectrum of services to children and youth since 1998. Our homes are located throughout Ottawa and the surrounding areas, serving children and youth ages 12-17.

Key Components of this position include:

As a child and youth worker there are some key components to keep in mind:

  • You must have an insured car and valid driver's licence, sometimes staff must use their personal vehicles however you may clock mileage to be reimbursed at payroll time.
  • Our pay schedule is monthly - pls ensure this is not a concern for you.
  • The position is for our home located in Orleans.
  • As a CYW you will be working with 3 other staff on shift front line with 4 adolescent youth who face daily challenges with their mental health. To support the youth we prioritize high supervision and engagement. We run daily programming with highlights such as social skills, etiquette and meal planning, physical activity(ex: swimming, hiking, tobogganing), recreational planned outings, supporting youth to appointments, job searching.
  • As a CYW you will support the youth in times if dysregulation, this includes managing verbal and physical aggression, if youth leave without permission you may follow to ensure high supervision however all youth have an individualized safety plan and in some cases the direction is not to follow.
  • Our most successful CYW's remain engaged with the youth on the floor and attend ongoing training and staff meetings to ensure strength of the staff team.
