JOB OPPORTUNITY – RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Description

Peters & Co. is currently seeking to hire a highly self-motivated and energetic individual to join our Research Department. As a member of our Research group, the successful candidate will be involved with the equity research coverage of public energy companies and industry analysis/trends. The successful candidate will develop advanced skills in financial modeling, a strong understanding of financial statement analysis and valuation methods, and an in depth understanding of the North American Energy Sector.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following:

  • Accounting, Finance, or Engineering oriented undergraduate degree.
  • Professional designation or working towards one (CFA, CPA, and/or P.Eng.).
  • Minimum one year of experience working in Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or another analytical role. Energy experience is considered an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
  • Experience with technical software such as geoSCOUT or Enverus is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of programming, databases, or software applications is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.
  • Strong leadership, work ethic, and motivation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
