Restorative Aide

Area of Assignment: Long Term Care

Basic Function and Scope:

The Restorative Aide is a key member of the interdisciplinary care team responsible for supporting residents to maintain and improve their functional abilities in alignment with their individualized plan of care. The role focuses on delivering restorative and rehabilitative interventions, promoting independence, and enhancing residents' quality of life.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, days

Status: Full-Time (new vacancy)

Pay Rate: $28.06-$32.30

Education:

  • Successful completion of a Restorative Care training program or enrollment in such a program.
  • Completion of a recognized PTA/OTA program or equivalent considered an asset

Experience:

  • Previous experience in restorative care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or long-term care is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated skills in communication, resident engagement, and teamwork.
  • Ability to safely perform lifting and mobility techniques.
  • Resident-centered care approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining resident dignity, independence, and quality of life.
  • Ability to follow care plans and adjust interventions based on resident needs.
  • Reliability, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Must have previous good performance and attendance record.
