Business Consultant (Intermediate)
Rate: CAD $45 - $60 hour
Contract: 12 months, with Optional 12 months extension
Location: Remote (Occasional onsite meeting in the Edmonton downtown Office)
We are looking for looking for a Business Consultant who is process oriented and experienced in gathering requirements, performing gap analysis, and working with stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet business needs and drive operational efficiency.
Responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and conduct process walkthroughs:
- Identify goals and pain points through gap analysis on current state and future state business processes.
- Create, review and update user stories, personas and journey maps, as applicable.
- Create system use cases, flow diagrams and interactive mock-ups outlining functional requirements, as required.
- Document and validate results with subject matter experts and drive the creation of detailed business and functional requirements specification documents.
- Support development of necessary system (non-technical) documentation as well as make recommendations for policy and/or procedural manuals.
Must Have
- Experience documenting user requirements, business processes, and workflows.
- Experience gathering requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases or scenarios, business analysis, and business process modeling.
- Experience in a leadership and/or facilitation role.
- Experience working within an agile development environment.
Nice to Have
- Active professional certification or accreditation in a related discipline from a recognized issuing body.
- Knowledge of various software development methodologies (i.e. agile, waterfall, scrum, Kanban, etc.).
- Experience evaluating policies, programs, and initiatives using program development principles
- Experience in gathering requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders across ministries or departments.
- Experience using analytical and problem solving skills to plan and design creative solutions.
- Experience with business writing, communication and documentation.
- Experience with change management.
