Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position located in Calgary, AB, for the role of Sandblaster. The Sandblaster will be responsible for cleaning, polishing, and preparing steel surfaces by operating sandblasting equipment. Daily tasks include reviewing project specifications, maintaining and troubleshooting sandblasting equipment, ensuring safety procedures are followed, and inspecting finished surfaces to meet quality standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality expectations while upholding Solico's reputation for precise craftsmanship.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in operating sandblasting equipment, including knowledge of pressure settings and abrasives
  • Basic understanding of steel surface preparation and finishing processes
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, proper handling of hazardous materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet stringent quality standards
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks for extended periods in various work settings
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Previous experience in sandblasting, metal fabrication, or construction is an asset
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with technical training or certification in related fields considered a plus
