Job Summary
We are looking to hire a Mining Specialist with experience within the underground mining industry to support our business in Western Canada. The ideal candidate should be in Kelowna British Columbia, Calgary or Edmonton Alberta, Saskatoon or Regina Saskatchewan, Winnipeg Manitoba.
Responsibilities
- Drive Growth within Mining Sector:
- Drive growth opportunities across Western Canada through our network of mining industry contacts, customers, sales representatives and new business prospects.
- Collaborate to develop Master Builder Solutions strategies within the underground mining sector.
- Assist with implementing the introduction of new solutions into the mining sector.
- Primary point of contact within business for Key Customers.
- Open the doors to unsold customers and assist with testing and trials to increase our market share.
- Collaborate and work with local territory sales teams to support new and existing customers the mining sector.
- Utilize SalesForce for tracking and reporting growth opportunities for new business.
- Provide Technical Support:
- Viewed as technical expert within the business for Ground Support and Backfill Technologies in the mining sector, assisting with customer trials and training.
- Assist with troubleshooting issues related to applications within underground mining facilities, both on-site and off-site.
- Collaborate with customers to address specific challenges and labor solutions to their needs.
- Customer Interactions:
- Provide voice of customer for the underground mining sector.
- Assist with trainings and workshops to educate internal teams and customers on the benefits and best practices.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in underground mining technology and share knowledge within the organization.
- Represent and promote our organization at appropriate industry associations and participate to learn about the needs and trends of the mining industry.
- Other Duties
- Help demonstrate and create value through innovative and sustainable concrete admixture solutions.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations in the development and application of product portfolio.
- Implement and comply with company initiatives, policies, and procedures.
Education and Experience
* Post-secondary education in Mining Engineering or Mining Technology is required, where experience in lieu of education will be considered.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience within the underground mining industry.
- Experience in account management and sales with a demonstrated history of closing new business and driving technology is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
* Strong technical knowledge of backfill, sprayed concrete, in situ concrete and rock bolt anchoring is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Strong planning and time management skills.
- Adapts to change, welcomes new ideas, handles pressure and adjusts plans to accommodate shifting needs.

Travel
Willingness to travel frequently (50% or more) to customer production facilities. This position requires a valid passport and driver's license.
Work Environment
This position spends a significant amount of time underground on customer sites, requiring the ability to access jobsites that may consist of entering confined spaces, tunnels, and underground mines. The employee must be comfortable in the underground mining and tunneling environment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be requested to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach with hands and arms; handle or feel objects, use physical tools or controls; climb up and down stairs; balances; effective verbal communication; the ability to respond quickly to sounds and instructions.
