JOB DUTIES

As a Substitute Child Care Assistant with the Lycée you will:

  • Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Assist with the acquisition and development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • May attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • May assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong classroom management skills;
  • Solid understanding and appreciation of the philosophy and unique goals of Lycée international de Calgary;
  • Fluent in French, working proficiency in English.
  • Alberta Child Care Certificate Level 1 or higher - submit copy with application
  • Up-to-date First Aid & CPR certificate - please submit copy with application;
  • Up-to-date police Check with Vulnerable Sector Search - please submit copy with application;

Other requirements:

  • Applicants must submit a cover letter.
  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Valid Work Permit holder without restrictions.

This is a casual position with assignments that may be last-minute and on short notice. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as needs can vary day-to-day.

SOMMAIRE DU POSTE 

En tant qu'Éducatrice assistante remplaçante au Lycée, vous devrez :

  • Soutenir les éducateurs de la petite enfance dans la mise en œuvre de programmes favorisant le développement physique, cognitif, émotionnel et social des enfants.
  • Impliquer les enfants dans des activités en racontant des histoires, en enseignant des chansons et en préparant des activités manuelles.
  • Préparer des collations et aménager les salles ou les meubles pour les repas et les périodes de repos.
  • Aider à l'acquisition et au développement des habitudes correctes d'alimentation, d'habillage et de toilette.
  • Soumettre des observations écrites sur les enfants aux éducateurs de la petite enfance ou aux superviseurs.
  • Maintenir l'équipement de la garderie et aider aux tâches ménagères et culinaires.
  • Participer aux réunions du personnel pour discuter des progrès et des problèmes des enfants, si nécessaire.
  • Aider les éducateurs de la petite enfance ou les superviseurs à tenir les dossiers, si nécessaire.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Compétences solides en gestion de classe ;
  • Bonne compréhension et appréciation de la philosophie et des objectifs uniques du Lycée international de Calgary
  • Maîtrise du français, compétence professionnelle en anglais.
  • Certificat de niveau 1 ou supérieur en garde d'enfants en Alberta – veuillez soumettre une copie avec votre candidature.
