Health, Safety & Training Coordinator

Practical Human Resource Solutions (PHRS) is conducting a confidential recruitment on behalf of a well-established aquaculture organization operating across Atlantic Canada. We are seeking a highly organized, systems-oriented Health, Safety & Training Coordinator to provide critical coordination and administrative support to Health & Safety teams and operational leaders.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position plays an important role in supporting the organization's Health & Safety programs to minimize risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a safe and healthy workplace. In this role, the Health, Safety & Training Coordinator works closely and side by side with the Health & Safety leads, while also supporting the Human Resources team and operational leaders across the organization, by assisting with the coordination and administration of Health & Safety and training and development activities.

This is an office-based role, with the office location based in either:

  • St. George, New Brunswick, or
  • Various locations throughout Newfoundland & Labrador

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer employee training records, schedules, and compliance requirements
  • Maintain accurate training databases and generate reports from internal systems
  • Support claims management and related documentation
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, and documentation to support Health & Safety and HR functions
  • Support the administration of Occupational Health & Safety programs
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and documentation preparation
  • Liaise with Health & Safety, HR, and operational stakeholders across Atlantic Canada

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, systems-savvy, and able to work effectively in a team environment, with a genuine interest in Health & Safety and employee training and development. They will bring a positive attitude, strong administrative skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A keen interest in Health & Safety and/or Training & Development administration
  • Training and/or experience in Occupational Health & Safety or Human Resources (asset)
  • Previous experience in aquaculture, manufacturing, or an industrial environment (asset)
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer and document management skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with systems, databases, or learning management systems (asset)
  • Effective presentation and employee training coordination skills
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and interest in participating in training opportunities
  • The ability to work well with employees and leaders across the organization in a team-oriented environment
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada
  • Ability to travel to operational sites across Atlantic Canada on occasion
  • Ability to work in an office-based role
