The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Landscape Services, the Winter Landscape Service Technician plays a key role in maintaining the beautiful grounds of the Innovation Saskatchewan Research and Technology (R+T) Park in Saskatoon. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for snow removal, supporting landscaping activities and helping with the general upkeep of the R+T Park.

We're looking for someone with well-rounded winter landscaping knowledge, including experience operating snow blowers and mobile sidewalk cleaners, as well as the ability to manually shovel snow.

Primary Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Removing snow, ice and other debris from all surfaces (e.g., pedestrian walkways, building entrances and exterior stairways) in a timely manner to ensure safe and accessible routes.
  • Performing seasonal grounds maintenance and assisting with landscaping projects using snow blowers, mobile sidewalk cleaners, hand tools and other related equipment.
  • Assisting with maintenance of surrounding outdoor areas including converting the pond into a skating rink, managing waste and installing seasonal lighting.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance on all vehicles and equipment, ensuring they continue running smoothly and safely.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
What We Want from You
  • 2-3 years of landscaping or grounds-related maintenance experience (preferred).
  • A clear Criminal Record Check and a valid driver's license (required).
  • Passionate about working outdoors and landscaping.
  • Driven and dependable, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with the Landscaping team.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of how to maintain a safe work environment to protect the well-being of self, co-workers, contractors and the public.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
