Role Overview:

We're looking for a Field Service Technician who thrives in hands-on technical environments, enjoys travel, and values customer interaction. This role involves installing, servicing, and troubleshooting inspection systems across North America and internationally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Utilize soldering equipment and tools to ensure reliable connections are made so that electronic devices work as expected.
  • Read and decipher schematics, blueprints, drawings, and assembly instructions.
  • Work with small electronic components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, or machines to assemble parts.
  • Conduct quality control checks.
  • Comply with and assist with the development of safety protocols.
  • Clean and maintain work areas and equipment including tools.
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying part lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing, and tracking orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Exceptional understanding and ability to interpret technical documents such as diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other instructions.
  • Communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety rules.
  • Solid understanding of all operating procedures.
  • Able to use multimeter.
  • Ability to solder small electronic components.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years of experience as a field service technician, or related troubleshooting experience
  • Post-secondary education in electromechanics, electrical technology/technician, or related field.
  • Experience working with small electronic components.
  • Experience working with power tools and machinery is an asset.
  • Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 – 48.00 per week
