Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced ETL Tester to join our client data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing ETL processes, particularly involving Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines. This role focuses on validating data ingested from Feedhub into the staging layer of our data architecture. You will work closely with data engineers, developers, and business analysts to ensure data quality, accuracy, and completeness throughout the pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:


• Participate in the design, development, and testing of ETL workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF).


• Validate and reconcile data ingested from Feedhub into the staging database.


• Perform data profiling, data quality checks, and transformation validations.


• Develop and execute test cases, test scripts, and test plans for ADF pipelines and associated data flows.


• Analyze source-to-target mapping documents to ensure business rules are implemented correctly.


• Identify, document, and track data discrepancies and defects.


• Work closely with development teams to resolve issues and support defect triaging.


• Perform regression, integration, and system testing on ETL components.


• Use SQL extensively to validate data at different stages of the pipeline (source, staging, target).


• Provide daily/weekly status updates and contribute to test reports and quality metrics.

Required Skills and Qualifications:


• 6+ years of experience in ETL/data warehouse testing.


• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure SQL Databases.


• Proficient in writing and executing complex SQL queries for data validation.


• Experience working with Feedhub or other data ingestion platforms.


• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data integration.


• Familiarity with source-to-target mapping (STTM) and data lineage tracking.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Experience with defect tracking tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar.


• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for ETL testing.


• Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.


• Exposure to data visualization tools like Power BI for validation support.


• Understanding of JSON/XML data structures from Feedhub feeds.
