Senior Production Manager / Plant Manager

Position Summary

The Senior Production Manager (or Plant Manager) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations, from planning and scheduling to production execution and continuous improvement. This role will manage end-to-end production cycles — ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety — while driving cost control, reducing waste, and meeting delivery commitments.

The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of managing complex manufacturing operations in
cladding, façades, integrated solar panels, curtain wall, or related architectural systems
, with strong leadership and hands-on shop floor management experience.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations & Planning

  • Lead and oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor all production activities, work schedules, and manpower requirements to meet project deadlines.
  • Own the full production run — from materials and fabrication through assembly, finishing, and packaging — ensuring smooth workflow and minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and project management teams to align production outputs with customer and project specifications.

Efficiency, Waste Reduction & Cost Control

  • Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize waste, optimize manhours, and improve throughput.
  • Track KPIs related to productivity, efficiency, and yield, identifying bottlenecks and corrective actions.
  • Maintain tight control of overtime, scrap rates, and rework while ensuring consistent product quality.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve recurring production issues.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, train, and motivate production staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety.
  • Establish clear performance goals and provide mentorship to production supervisors and line leads.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration with quality assurance, maintenance, logistics, and engineering teams.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure production processes comply with ISO, safety, and quality standards.
  • Oversee inspection and testing throughout the production process to maintain consistency and accuracy.
  • Support continuous product and process improvement in collaboration with engineering and quality departments.

Safety & Maintenance

  • Uphold a strong safety culture, ensuring all safety policies, procedures, and equipment are maintained and enforced.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance and minimize equipment downtime.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare and present production performance reports to senior management.
  • Recommend and implement technology upgrades, process improvements, and automation opportunities.
  • Lead Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement projects across the plant.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role (Production or Plant Management).
  • Background in
    cladding, façades, integrated solar, curtain wall, or architectural metal systems
    strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling, materials management, and lean manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to drive efficiency, control labour costs, and meet demanding production targets.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical diploma or degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field) preferred.
