Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Arborist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment, competent in climbing and falling , ensuring safety and health of urban and rural trees, as well as leading team members and supporting commercial projects. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, utilizing specialized equipment and horticultural expertise to promote professionalism and well satisfied customer outcomes.

Duties

  • Climber duties, advanced rigging, crane work and single stem work
  • Competent felling and bucking on large trees
  • Assisting Ground team members, ground clean up and dragging of brush
  • Chipper maintenance, inspections and over view training
  • Assess tree health and identify potential hazards through visual inspections and diagnostic techniques
  • Perform pruning, trimming, and removal of trees using rigging techniques and safety protocols
  • Operate bucket trucks, bucket operation equipment, and other aerial devices to access high branches safely
  • Assist with tree planting projects, ensuring proper horticultural practices are followed
  • Implement safety procedures during all operations to protect team members and the public
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good working order; perform routine inspections and minor repairs as needed

Skills

  • Proficiency in rigging techniques for safe tree removal and pruning operations
  • Experience with GIS mapping software for site locations
  • Ability to operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment safely and efficiently
  • Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices including horticulture principles
  • Strong understanding of tree biology, health assessment, and pest management
  • Excellent physical fitness with the ability to work at heights, lift heavy loads, and perform outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
  • Certification or experience in arboriculture or related fields is preferred but not required; ongoing training will be provided. Contacts with schooling can be put in place for future training.

Pay: $22.50-$49.50 per hour
