Microsoft Business Central Functional Consultant & Developer:

(Full-time or Part-time)

About the Role:

We are seeking a hybrid Business Central functional consultant + light developer to help streamline and optimize our ERP processes, build automations, and support ongoing enhancements. This role is ideal for someone who deeply understands how Business Central works operationally (not just technically), and can translate business needs into smart, efficient ERP workflows — with the capability to execute small development and integration projects as needed.

You'll work closely with finance, supply chain, production, and operations leaders to optimize processes, troubleshoot issues, and support our growing digital transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities::

Functional / Consulting:

  • Analyze business processes and recommend workflow improvements across:

  • Finance & accounting

  • Inventory & warehousing

  • Purchasing & sales

  • Production (nice to have)

  • Configure Business Central modules, permissions, workflows, and automations

  • Train users, create SOPs, and ensure proper adoption of ERP best practices

  • Troubleshoot system challenges and support end-users

Development / Technical:

  • Build and maintain AL extensions for small customizations

  • Integrate Business Central with other systems (e-commerce, Power BI, etc.)

  • Support data migrations, custom reports, and dashboards

  • Maintain API-based connections where relevant

Automation / Power Platform:

  • Build workflows/automations using Power Automate

  • Develop Power BI dashboards and reports

  • Support low-code application development using Power Apps

Required Skills & Experience::

Core Requirements:

  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

  • Strong Business Central functional consulting capability

  • Ability to develop and modify AL code/extensions

  • Power Platform skills (Power BI & Power Automate — required)

  • Understanding of accounting & financial workflows in an ERP environment

  • Experience optimizing supply chain, warehouse, and inventory processes

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently with stakeholders

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in manufacturing or food processing environments

  • SQL, API, or integration tooling experience

  • Power Apps experience

  • Exposure to Microsoft Business Central SaaS upgrades / migration projects

Education:

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field

  • Microsoft certifications are an asset

Location:

  • Toronto-based preferred, hybrid or remote possible for the right candidate
