The City of Pitt Meadows is hiring multiple Labourer Is to assist with seasonal work and vacation relief coverage. Under the supervision of more senior staff, work may involve duties associated with maintaining public fields and trails including weeding, planting, grass cutting, litter pick up, and various other routine maintenance tasks. If you're passionate about creating beautiful, welcoming and safe natural spaces in our community, then this may be the opportunity for you

Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a 40-hour workweek. However, participation in our Earned Day Off program may be considered. Please note these are time-durated positions with a contract of approximately 6 months, with a possible extension.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent experience or training.
• Experience in a municipal environment will be considered an asset.
• Experience operating a variety of small equipment and hand tools.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to effectively and safely perform manual labour outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
