Labourer I

**Labourer I (Parks)**:
**(CUPE, Full-time, Time-durated - approximately 4-6 months)**

The City of Pitt Meadows is hiring up to three Labourer I’s to assist with seasonal work and vacation relief coverage. Under the supervision of skilled staff, work may involve duties associated with maintaining public fields and trails including weeding, planting, grass cutting, litter pick up, and various other routine maintenance tasks. If you’re passionate about creating beautiful, welcoming and safe natural spaces in our community, then this may be the opportunity for you

Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a 40-hour workweek. However, participation in our Earned Day Off program may be considered. Depending on operational needs, there may be opportunities for scheduled overtime.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of grade 10 or have equivalent experience or training.
- Experience in a municipal environment will be considered an asset.
- Ability to safely use a variety of hand tools.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships with others.
- Ability to safely perform physical labour outdoors in all kinds of weather.
- Ability to work independently.
- Driver’s license for the Province of British Columbia.
