ABOUT THE ROLE

This position is responsible for operational functionality of systems and databases. Works in collaboration with corporate partners and other stakeholders relative to data integrity, security and system integration. Conducts development and implementation activities to support the existing needs and the identification of future systems requirements; and implements new projects and processes.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING


•    Collaborates/works with stakeholders and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function. 


•    Monitors performance of systems, associated applications and databases in conjunction with partners.


•    Acts as technical lead for the development, implementation and maintenance of systems and applications to meet stakeholder requirements, including configuration testing prior to all installations. 


•    Researches and investigates enhancements, new technologies and upgrades, and makes recommendations to enhance productivity and efficiency for end-users.


•    Develops scripts, and implements integrations to automate deployment of solutions.


•    Develops technical specifications and drawings, and ensures vendor compliance in deliverables.


•    Monitors and maintains systems data to ensure consistency and accuracy for business systems components. 


•    Researches, analyzes, implements and documents data acquisition, transformation, creation and maintenance processes, and ensures that data meets the quality requirements.


•    Works to ensure existing and any future systems undergo privacy and security reviews; monitors and coordinates an audit of system files and data to maintain systems data quality and support documentation standards.


•    Supports creation of metrics, KPIs, reports for business needs.


•    Ensures effective interface with other corporate database systems; ensuring standards are established and maintained, and consistency between databases is maintained and data transfer is accurate, timely and seamless.


•    Prepares written reports for management, including system performance, recommended actions and planning activities.


•    Works to implement systems upgrades and testing following prescribed methodologies from the software provider. 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR


•    Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.


•    Minimum five (5) years' experience providing project implementation analysis and support in data management systems, data integrity and security as it relates to relevant technology systems and application development and spatial data creation.


•    Demonstrated knowledge of technology industry and related systems and applications.


•    Demonstrated knowledge and experience of systems development life cycle processes using databases and programming languages.


•    Experience in manipulating and analyzing data using relevant applications


•    Ability to research, document, and present technical information for management.


•    Ability to analyze and resolve technical problems. 


•    Demonstrated ability to coordinate, plan, implement and evaluate programs for customer service.


•    Experience in project management and leading project teams.


•    Knowledge of trends in the use of current technology as it relates to data management systems.


•    Analytical skills to analyze user requirements identify issues and to design, develop and implement applications and recommend solutions. 


•    Demonstrated ability in the Region's core competencies.


•    Advanced skills in virtual platforms and MS Office Suite including the use of virtual platforms for conducting meetings and/or presentations.
