Role

Web Developer (Part-Time, Backend-leaning)

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain site backends (auth, content, APIs, forms, search, payments).
  • Turn Figma designs into production sites with a component-based frontend.
  • Integrate third-party services (CMS, email, analytics, CRM, booking, e-commerce).
  • Own deployments and environments (staging → production) within our playbook.
  • Set up clean content models and editor workflows in the CMS.
  • Keep things fast and stable: performance, accessibility, SEO basics, error handling.
  • Document setup, env vars, and "how to update" guides for the team.
  • Collaborate with design + marketing; estimate work and communicate trade-offs.

You're a fit if

  • You've shipped 3+ websites/apps with real users (send links or repos).
  • Strong in one modern stack:
  • + TypeScript ),
    or
  • Python (FastAPI/Django) with a JS frontend.
  • Solid with SQL (Postgres/MySQL), schema design, migrations.
  • Comfortable with headless CMS (Sanity, Strapi, Contentful, or headless WP).
  • API design/integration, webhooks, auth, roles/permissions.
  • Git workflows and clear commits.
  • Can read a design file and ship a responsive, accurate UI.

Nice to have

  • Vercel/Netlify/AWS basics, Docker Lite.
  • Stripe, Shopify (headless).
  • Motion/interaction (Framer Motion/GSAP).
  • Analytics/GA4, server-side events, tag management.

Details

  • Type: Part-time contractor, ~10–20 hrs/week.
  • Location: Vancouver preferred; PT-friendly remote ok.
  • Collaboration window: overlap 9 am–2 pm PT for check-ins.
  • Start: November 2025.
